A study of teaching quality and effectiveness in FSM

This study addresses Outcome 1 of the IQBE project, focusing on enhancing teacher preparation with a particular emphasis on improving pre-service teacher education in FSM. By analyzing data from the FSM School Accreditation System and the National Minimum Competency Test, the study identifies strengths and weaknesses in teaching skills across FSM states, though it notes limitations in correlating teacher qualifications with student learning outcomes. Despite this, the study's recommendations, including expanding data collection to track teacher preparation and qualifications nationwide, offer valuable insights for improving teaching quality and education outcomes in FSM.
